Opening Night:
Thursday 21st of November, 6.30 – 9.00pm
Salerno Gallery is proud to present rising, contemporary artist Michael Rossiter in his third solo exhibition “What are you looking at?”
Rossiter’s highly complex and unique imagery combines symmetry with playfulness. The use of bold colours and exquisite detail make his eye-catching paintings a stand-out. His seemingly naive and utopian landscapes manifest a deeper and often darker under tone.
In the neo-surrealist style Rossiter’s works are dreamlike and whimsical. Influenced by Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte, and more recently “Pop Surrealist” Mark Ryden, Rossiter creates a symbolic language that is both personal yet universal. “I want to draw the viewer in from one of many focal points and challenge their perception of reality”.
