Artist’s Statement
If eyes are windows to the soul then it is clear why light has such power to make our spirits soar, to create a sense of joy and well-being or conversely to generate a feeling of fear or dread. From the soft light of dawn through to a brilliant moonlit night, there is beauty, there is magic, and there is mystery concealed within the light.
Light sets the mood, and the effect it has on all of us has inspired the exhibition “Of Night and the Light”. This body of work seeks to express some of the ways that light speaks to me.

Robyn is an Australian born mixed media artist with a passion for creating art that blends unusual and exquisite textiles, with papers, photographs and fine metallic thread. Works are created on watercolour paper and all materials are joined meticulously using acid free adhesives – there is no stitching. The result is a beautifully layered and complex image, intricately embellished throughout with fine metallic thread. Above all, Robyn’s desire is to create unique works that exhibit beauty, harmony and exceptional craftsmanship.
