Salerno Gallery is proud to present Free Range, a solo exhibition of mixed media sculpture by Jason Christopher.
Following his recent success as a finalist in the2012 Wynne Prize, 2010 and 2011 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize and inclusion in the 2012 Sydney Laneway festival, Jason’s new solo exhibition brings together work that comments on the synergy that exists between our culture and the mechanised world.
Drawing on over 20 years of experience in the film industry and industrial design, Jason creates highly original and thought provoking work that offers a satirical exploration into a possible future of our society. The use of cutting edge technologies, along with attention to detail through the use of advanced fabrication techniques, Jason produces work that look as if it has literally arrived off the production line. The work poses questions to do with the cause and effect of technological advancements and how they have impacted our physical and cultural evolution.
