Artist statement: In week one and week two there will be two different chapters of the original graphic novel Jargon Slayer. In week one she will take down egotistical Dj’s who are suffering delusions of grandeur who form into the body of Pinocchio in the series polly under false pretence. In week two she liberates Pan from the gods of rock by venturing into the heart of Pan’s labyrinth with her trusty slingshot to destroy a statue with rocks covered in epiphanies. Jargon Slayer’s base function is conceptual deconstructions through ties classical allegory and contemporary commentary. She de-constructs many societal imbalances via the Femme Fatal mechanism for a possible Utopia.
Also in week one we have the Warmongering Bunnies series. In this series Clay shows an insight into disturbing multi-national agendas in the global military partnerships of the world we live in today. Reworked historical iconic propaganda combined with his deadpan sense of humour is juxtaposed against factual statistical information. This series caught the critical eye of the Australian art collector’s undiscovered section and was publicised in the April/May/June edition.
The fourth series which will be shown in week two is Cultural Temptest. This series looks at how we all can be awakened to the beauty of other traditional cultures by people we meet when immersed in travel.
